Annie got her braces:
They are a little long, so I'm having the specialist come back today to trim them a little. Busy week, Friday will be the only day we won't have a therapist coming.
The only problem is finding shoes! AGH! I ordered 2 pairs of extra wide tennies for her that Miss Lisa recommended, but they don't fit. These braces are HUGE. I went to the mall yesterday and tried on a bajillion pairs of shoes and nothing worked. The only thing that fit was a size 7!! Annie's feet are barely a size 4.. There's no way she would learn to walk with huge shoes the size of her head. Ha. They do offer special shoes online just for the orthotics, but wow they are expensive.. Might not have a choice, though.
I did find some temporary sandals for her, just so she can stand without slipping.
Here's the difference!:
Such a huge difference. She can almost stand straight up against the couch now! She was even doing a little dance, shaking her hips and bending her knees and everything. Where before she was just struggling to hold on. So cute!
The best part about it is that she doesn't freak out like I thought she would while she's wearing them. *Knock on wood* I'm feeling pretty optimistic about them, so hopefully they will work out :)
